Soluble powdered tea box Palletizing (light and unstable packaging)

Role: Operations Manager

“We produce soluble powdered tea packaged in cartons and then in shipping boxes. The main problem was load stability: the packages are light and tend to deform.”

Requirement

  • Lightweight and not very rigid cartons
  • Highly variable formats (small cartons, multipacks, promotions)
  • Different pallet requirements for each customer/export destination
  • Need for high speeds without compromising quality

“With manual handling, we had pallets that moved during transport. That was not acceptable for export.”

Solution implemented

  • Anthropomorphic robot with precise placement control
  • Custom gripper with gentle gripping and uniform load distribution
  • Optimization of pallet patterns to increase stability (interlocks, offsets, etc.)
  • Integration with labeling and traceability system

“We worked together on the patterns: not just speed, but actual pallet engineering.”

Results

  • Much more stable pallets (even over long export routes)
  • Reduction in logistics complaints
  • Increased line speed without loss of quality
  • Standardization of pallet layouts by customer

“The leap was not only technological, but also organizational. Now the pallet is designed, not improvised.”
